About
Hi, I'm Uma.
I'm a proud Bay Area native and even prouder Indian-American artist.
I grew up playing drums in an all-girl punk band on weeknights and performing in piano recitals during the weekends. My mom and grandmother taught me to sing, and Robin Williams and Kajol taught me to act.
Now, I live and work in New York City, where I was the first woman to play Pi in the stage version of Life of Pi on Broadway. I teach at the Atlantic Acting School, where I have been a contributing artist for almost a decade.
Reach out if you'd like to know any more, I love to collaborate!
